Q: What ages do you welcome for your meetings?
A: There are no age restrictions for our meetings. Married or single, kids or not, makes no difference to us.
Q: What if I don't attend New Beginnings Fellowship church? Does this mean I cannot attend your meetings?
A: No. Our focus is to set the area of Tampa Bay on fire for Jesus Christ. This won't be accomplished through a single congregation. Instead, it is going to take many throughout the entire body of Christ. We already have many attending from across several churches in the Tampa Bay area, and we have no intention of attempting to draw anyone away from their current church body. This is about Jesus Christ our Lord, not about church growth.
Q: What do you do at your Sunday evening meetings?
A: First of all, there is no specific and rigorous format for our meetings. Our number one objective is to allow the Spirit of God to lead us where He wants to. However, we intend to have regular prayer, worship and teachings on a regular basis.
Q: Can everyone operate in the gifts of the Spirit, or is this just reserved for a chosen few?
A: We believe it is the will of God that every believer be filled with the Holy Spirit, as evidenced by the demonstration of God's power through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, in the work of the Ministry.
Therefore, the gifts of the Spirit are available to every believer. “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:4-7).
And while we are given certain gift(s) as a member of the body of Christ, we also believe that we can seek the greater gifts in order to increase our ability and effectiveness to promote Christ and usher in the kingdom of God. “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But eagerly desire the greater gifts” (1 Corinthians 12:27-31).
Q: What do you mean when I hear you say that we can practice the gifts of the Spirit that God has given us?
A: As evidenced by our own experiences, the ability to operate in the gifts of the Spirit increases with practice and use. We consider these gifts of the Spirit to be similar in this way to other gifts which some people seem to be born with: such as playing a musical instrument, or playing a sport, etc. Even though we may believe someone was born with that gift, we all know and recognize that practice makes perfect. The best musicians and athletes are almost always the ones who not only were seemingly born with an innate ability to do that particular thing, but they are also the ones who practiced more than anyone else around them. We see a similarity in the gifts of the Spirit. The bible tells us that each of us has been given a gift of the Spirit. But if we aren’t using it regularly, it will likely not be as effective as it could be. We have an objective to create a “safe” environment for education on the gifts of the Spirit, as well as to practice using them and become comfortable in the ways in which God speaks to us and works through us. This allows for much more effective public ministry when we have increased our confidence to operate in the gifts in that “safe” environment
